The Clearinghouse is a secure online database that gives employers, the FMCSA, State Driver Licensing Agencies (SDLAs), and State law enforcement personnel real-time information about commercial driver’s license (CDL) and commercial learner’s permit (CLP) holders’ drug and alcohol program violations.

This test is conducted by the employer's authority, depending upon their needs, the employer can decide how to manage and run their testing program. They can choose urine, hair, or saliva depending upon the drug-free workplace regulations in the state. Non-DOT drug tests are less regulated than DOT drug tests but they are best for businesses to maintain professional work standards and integrity in the workplace.
